‘Angry, White and Proud’

I have heard a lot about channel 4’s documentary ‘Angry, White and Proud’ which was aired this Wednesday.   I still need to watch it myself but for some reason I am really hesitant in watching this documentary. Probably because it’s the same crap all over again. The British White Christian bigots against the British Pakistani Muslim bigots.  “Them vs us”.

Watching these kind of shows are indeed very insightful but for someone like myself who is just all too familiar with this issue these documentaries are incredibly tiring and mentally exhausting to watch. However this time round instead of me dissecting the documentary because in all honesty I’m just so sick, tired and bored of the whole “Pakis go home” campaigns or “Britain needs Islam” campaigns.  This time round I rather look at the reaction of the viewers. Most viewers posted their reviews online and the source I will be using is good old Twitter.

‏@bkksomchai  – I’m watching ‘Angry, white and proud’.  Its making me sad, white and ashamed.

@MickMcCarsey –Somewhere in another country, a Muslim is watching Angry White and Proud and trying to explain that not all British people are ‘like that.’

@DonnyBlade83 –Watched Angry, White and Proud last night, excellent documentary. Now, will Channel 4 show the inner side of radical Islam in this country?

@TheDaveCable-Uneducated. Should not be allowed out in public. Hope this isn’t aired in other countries makes me ashamed to be English #angrywhiteandproud

@JonRichard-Channel 4 showing the world the very best in what English culture has offer #AngryWhiteAndProud

@ashrouen-These people are scum & are very dangerous. Toxic for modern British society.. As bad as the terrorists they rant about #angrywhiteandproud

@catherinetyley-Angry racist complains market is “all foreign food” then returns home to cupboard full of pasta and an Italian mother. #angrywhiteandproud

@JonRichard-Nationalist: Go back to your own country

**5 mins later goes to Turkish kebab house or indian curry house**  #AngryWhiteAndProud

@JTegz –I’d like apologise on the behalf of white people prior to the showing of ‘Angry, White and Proud’.

@pjwhiteside70 –Morning troops, white angry and proud yes I am,yes we are at war with Islam. Just look what’s happening around the world

@MichaelSD1993-Angry, white and proud it’s shocking how bias the media is, why isn’t there a angry, radical Muslim and proud programme?

That’s just a few of the viewer’s feedback. I think it’s fair to say that the majority of the British public condemn such racist movements.  And behalf of the British Muslims who are sane we also condemn such racist movements who preach Islam in the most distorted way ever. No we do not want to take over Britain. We like the fact that we have a multicultural society. Living in Britain all my life I can honestly proudly say the British community is the most tolerable and diverse community oppose to other European countries. Sure, there are a few bad eggs going out of their way to hurt members of the British Pakistani Muslim community, and there are also a few bad eggs going out of their way to hurt members of the British community.  These individuals who stir trouble and preach hate do not represent the rest of us. We will not be generalised and put in the same box as those idiots.

Perhaps the media needs to refresh itself. Instead of showing racist and radical movements, why not show members of the British public getting along?  Perhaps the media is the main stirrer in this equation too. I have seen so many images on the net of a British Pakistani Muslim man helping an elderly British person with her shopping bags. I have seen many images online, of a British man holding an umbrella above a British Pakistani Muslim who is praying on the ground to protect him from the rain. Why does the media never produce documentaries about this beautiful diversity and solidarity we have instead?

  1. It can be very difficult to find out the truth these days because the media (at least the ones in my country) are so corrupt. They report what fits their political agenda, and when LOUD news doesn’t they just change it so it does. It doesn’t matter what side of the political spectrum they are on–both sides are equally bad. Things have changed very greatly–I’m astonished at how radically and quickly this has happened. Commentators who a couple of years ago seemed rational and somewhat objective now look like raving lunatics. I know this change has been going on for years, but what’s happening now is MUCH worse than anything I’ve seen before. May God show us the Truth, and may the Truth set us free!

    1. I know right, it is very barbaric what’s going on right now. The documentary maker spent a whole year with these groups to gain their trust. This group is called the far right movement they emerged when the pervious nationalist movement EDL (English Defence League) stopped. Many thought now that EDL has stopped this whole nationalist movement will come to an end all altogether. Unfortunately more idiots were inspired and started the national movement once again. So it seems like one thing stops and another occurs. As for the media, we all know how fabricated it is. The media is the biggest hate preacher there is. Broadcast documentaries where we see diversity, people helping each other out, a community consensus for gods sake?!

      1. Its Idiotic to stand for your own People in your own country? Our nationalism is bad because we Want you out of our Nation..because you don’t belong? this is not your nation.
GO HOME TO THE SANDS WHERE YOUR PEOPLE COME FROM!

        hajrakhan11…..indeed.

      2. That’s an interesting thing to say, however from a logical perspective flawed. For instance you wish for migrants to migrate to the land that either they or they’re parents were born. However, if migrants leave then they take they’re imports with them. Britain has always been heavily dependent on the outsourced recourses. Why do you think the government hasn’t listened to your pleas to remove migrants yet? And no it’s not because the government don’t want to be bluntly racist. It is indeed also because of all the valuable resources foreigners and our countries provide for the UK, i.e China where most of the clothes you own come from. Also Saudi Arabia or other Middle Eastern countries, where the oil for the car you drive comes from. The list of imported goods coming into Britain coming in from abroad is practically infinite. Just imagine how difficult your like would be if you did that’ve the basic utilities to survive on a daily basis, ones that Britain does not provide. If we all went back to our “sands” then you would not have basic utilities, such as clothes for starters. Also this nation is as mine as much it is yours. See I pay tax, contribute towards keeping a society consensus, do not commit crime, have not got a criminal record, do not litter, show respect to other members of the public. I have doe everything in my power to be an outstanding law abiding citizen ego respects this nation and it’s people. Have you?

  2. Astagfirullah, I had never imagined, that the situation will become worst. If they said, ” No more mosques,” so what’s the meaning of “freedom in religion?” They need stick to find the truth. Sorry for my bad words! I just don’t understand about their minds.

    1. Well they haven’t bothered reading the Qur’an, most of them think Mosques are terrorist camps lol! It comes to education. They base their belief on the terrorists also recently in the UK there were stories exposed of Muslim Pakistani men grooming and raping young teenage British White female. These groups are very angry about this to but have forgotten about the famous White British men who too abused teenagers. Jimmy Savile the most famous exposure. These people like to generalise. Lack of education and generalising is their problem.

  3. Some serious questions, not meant to inspire hatred, much of the world is searching for answers. How will you tell them that Islam is not looking to kill or convert them when it’s written in your Quran that you are? They grew up in those neighborhoods and seeing many muslims holding signs saying Islam will dominate the world is new to them, they are reacting too. How will you tell them you are not violent when the news is filled with Islamic surrounded terrorist events like 200 kids murdered in Peshawar or 2000 villagers by Boko Haram?

Remember, the members of this group you are hating on have not commited mass murders and beheadings like they see Islam doing right now, they’d be in jail or dead if they had. Bombs are falling on Muslims, not on the English, so they feel validated and compelled to push Muslims out until Muslims show them they are not evil. Remember, they are English and their families have lived there much longer than most of the newly arrived Muslims… that’s their reality. You can’t claim to be a victim of hate crimes in Western society if you aren’t willing to be part of the solution as well by teaching both sides.

When you throw out insults, like saying they lack education, they take you less seriously since they likely have more degrees on the wall than most of the people arriving as refugees. The question here becomes… is your heart closed or do you truly want to co-exist?

    1. Hi John thank you reading my post and your comment I would happily address your questions in the best way I can. So let’s break your questions down, this way I can answer more easily.

First Question: “How will you tell them that Islam is not looking to kill or convert them when it’s written in your Quran that you are?” So I presume by this question you have obviously read the Qur’an? As you have claimed it is written in the Qur’an. Well, if you have then I am afraid you and those terrorists have both interpreted the Qur’an wrong. Is it permissible to takes ones’ life? The answer is no, me and you, I presume have both read the Qur’an right? And then from there we can see terrorism is above all murder. Murder is strictly forbidden in the Qur’an. Qur’an 6:151 says, “And do not kill a soul that God has made sacrosanct, save lawfully.” In other words a God has created life; therefore we humans have no right to wrongfully take it.

Second Question: “How will you tell them you are not violent when the news is filled with Islamic surrounded terrorist events like 200 kids murdered in Peshawar or 2000 villagers by Boko Haram?” Since you commented on this post I presume “they” are members of the EDL and other nationalist groups. Well how will I tell that I am not violent? I guess you mean me individually, well I am not violent and I will not be held responsible for a crime committed by men who I have never met in my life. Who are not even on the same soil as me. If you mean “you” as in all the Muslim population which consist of nearly 1.2 billion Muslims, how will we tell them that we are non-violent when the news is filled with people committing crimes in the name of our religion? First of all we would probably tell them to do the basic maths, many of these members and yourself believe that all Muslims are violent, so that’s then near about 1.2 billion people. Now if 1.2 billion people were all violent I think it’s fair to say that most of the world would be dead. After all if 1.2 billion of us were all violent then that would be the case right? Secondly, regarding the 200 kids murdered in Peshawar and the 2000 villagers by Boko Haram girls, have they and you not questioned that if we were all terrorists then why on earth would be killing our own people? You may think we’re all one big Islamic community, but it is not black and white as it seems. These terrorists who commit crimes, use religion as a tool, whether you Muslim or non-Muslim this does not appeal to them, the Peshawar shootings proved that.

Furthermore, I am not “hating” on these groups, I call them bigots just like how I call the radical Islamist groups bigots. “They have not committed mass murders and beheadings like they see Islam doing right now” John I am not sure if you have studied these groups, the statistics or watched the documentaries. Here is a small statement from West Midlands police station “After protestors listened to speeches and displayed their flags, factions of the crowd of around 2000 supporters started to turn violent with missiles being thrown at police who were trying to maintaining order.” Here is the full article http://www.west-midlands.police.uk/latest-news/news.aspx?id=2337

It’s interesting when you say “Bombs are falling on Muslims” and here we have members of the EDL throwing about Missiles at the police. Slightly ironic don’t you think and hypocritical.
Moving on, you asked how can we show them how we Muslims are not evil? Once again why should we the 1.2 or more billions of us take responsibility for crimes committed by a minority of groups? If this is logical than that also means White Christians should apologise too for creating slavery, for the KKK, or how about these White Christians who committed crime in the name of their religion:

female Christian Right terrorist Shelly Shannon- The murder of Dr. George Tiller, May 31, 2009

Christian Right sympathizer Jim David Adkisson-walked into the Knoxville Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee during a children’s play and began shooting people at random. Two were killed, while seven others were injured but survived

Paul Jennings Hill, who was executed by lethal injection on Sept. 3, 2003 for the murders of abortion doctor John Britton and his bodyguard James Barrett.

Eric Rudolph is best known for carrying out the Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta during the 1996 Summer Olympics—a blast that killed spectator Alice Hawthorne and wounded 111 others.

James Charles Kopp is a radical Christian terrorist who has been exalted as a hero by the Army of God. On Oct. 23, 1998 Kopp fired a single shot into the Amherst, NY home of Barnett Slepian (a doctor who performed abortions), mortally wounding him. Slepian died an hour later

John C. Salvi- In 1994, the radical anti-abortionist and Army of God member attacked a Planned Parenthood clinic in Brookline, Massachusetts, shooting and killing receptionists Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols and wounding several others

These are just the few; you may research the many more who committed acts of violence and murder in the name of Christianity. So now please tell me how can Christians prove they are not evil?

Moreover, regarding your first statement “, “Remember, they are English and their families have lived there much longer than most of the newly arrived Muslims… that’s their reality”. If you watched this documentary I have mentioned in my post you would have seen one of the members who is mixed race. He is Italian and Irish. His mother is an immigrant from Italy. He went home and started to cook pasta. However, he refuses to accept his own reality. The reality that he is not “English”.

Regarding your second statement “You can’t claim to be a victim of hate crimes in Western society if you aren’t willing to be part of the solution as well by teaching both sides” I am not claiming to a victim of hate crime John. If you have read my post you will see how I condemn both parties. And please explain to me when you say I am not willing to be part of the solution? I am doing my bit, I have this blog, I speak against the radical Islamist groups, I condemn their actions and I despise them. I am hoping those who have such a distorted view on Islam learn through some of my posts. But I am not a philosopher, I am just a 19 year old, there’s only so much I can do. As regards to teaching, well how can you teach those who refuse to learn? This is also refers to these nationalists groups. They claim that the foreigners have taken over and have taken all the jobs. Have they bothered to check national statistics? Here are some link to gain a better understand of employment and foreigners in the UK

      http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/10/29/ipsos-mori-poll-wrong_n_6066800.html

So now after reading these links, I ask you do you think these individuals have bothered to check national statistics. If they did would they be making such bold claims that foreigners and ethnic minorities have taken all the jobs and what not?

“When you throw out insults, like saying they lack education, they take you less seriously since they likely have more degrees on the wall than most of the people arriving as refugees. The question here becomes… is your heart closed or do you truly want to co-exist?

I apologise if you think me stating they lack education is an insult. That was not the intention. And that is the truth, of course it all boils down to education, this doesn’t precisely mean having a degree. I mean understanding basic sociology; you do not need a degree for this. “have more degrees on the wall than most of the people arriving as refugees”
First of all here is a link, exposing the EDL members who were charged of various crimes http://edlcriminals.com/ I guess most of these individuals have degrees on their walls right?

Also many “refugees” more politically correct referred to as immigrants, are more ‘better skilled’, ‘better educated. Immigrants in the UK are rising, finds Centre for Economic Performance. Immigrants are better educated than their UK-born counterparts, on average. The most recent immigrants are better educated still. Around 10% of all migrants are in full-time education. Immigrants are over-represented in the very high-skilled and very low-skilled occupations. Here is another link that discusses some more fact on Immigration which you may be interested in

“The question here becomes… is your heart closed or do you truly want to co-exist?” John, please read my post again, all of it. What have I mentioned at the bottom? “No we do not want to take over Britain. We like the fact that we have a multicultural society. Living in Britain all my life I can honestly proudly say the British community is the most tolerable and diverse community”…“Why does the media never produce documentaries about this beautiful diversity and solidarity we have instead?”

I still don’t understand how you are questioning if I want co-exist or not. I think my post made it pretty clear what the answer is to that. My questions to you now John are you willing to admit that you really know nothing about Islam? Have you read all of the Qur’an? Do you believe everything the news present to you? Even though institutions like Fox news have been proved to be biased and incorrect in their data findings. Do you really think it is logical to assume 1.2 billion people are all terrorists? What about White Christian terrorists, should they be generalised and applied to all the rest of the sane and normal Christian population?

      1. Great answer, dear Sister! 🙂 I wish I could answer those questions, but I know myself, I’m still poor in English. You’re great anyhow still young, (we’re 16 yo different in age). I’m so proud of you, my younger sister! Allah bless you for your all reports! Ameen. 🙂

  4. Oh and P.S., if you truly don’t want to become jaded then don’t watch the movie, people need to be uplifted in life, not torn down. If on the other hand you want more fuel to continue raging against someone then watch it because that’s all you will find. Be the bigger person.

Its fine that you have completely misinterpreted my post haha, but if you read it again you will see how I am indeed questioning the media which constantly shows us hate and anger instead the diversity we have in the UK. I also mentioned I have not yet seen the documentary and am hesitant, as there is simply way to much of this and not enough of presenting the wider British population 🙂
